Which Competences Do Language Teachers Need? An Evaluation of Competency Frameworks

The aim of this study is to determine competences needed in the language teaching profession. For aim, six frameworks for teacher competency are examined. Data analysed by using content analysis method. required skills and knowledge categorized under aspects learning, learner, teaching, assessment evaluation, linguistic competences, awareness, professional development, leadership, culture, school environment, experience technology. results revealed that core crucial teachers. Yet, lay diverse focus on related these competences. Out results, it evident a common framework teachers needed, as all seem be insufficient give full overview regarding
